We are looking for a new Vice President Fundraising to join the team and help is in this exciting period of growth and development.
New IAHAIO Board member opportunity
The International Association of Human-Animal Interaction Organizations (IAHAIO) is the global association of organizations that engage in practice, research and/or education in animal assisted activity, animal assisted therapy and service animal training. We have over 90 multidisciplinary member organizations and professional associations globally. Our mission is to provide international leadership in advancing the field of human-animal interaction. This is accomplished through research, education, and collaboration among our membership, policy makers, practitioners and the general public.
We have recently appointed a part-time Director who works closely with the IAHAIO Board to deliver our mission. This is an exciting time in IAHAIO’s development and we are now seeking to appoint a new Board member to help drive our growth over the next few years. We are seeking to appoint an individual, preferably with experience at Board level, with particular background and experience in:
· Fundraising. The candidate should have excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to seek out new funding streams and forge strong relationships with potential sponsors. Experience of grant/trust and online fundraising is advantageous.
Board members play an important role and, with the fellow Board members, are responsible for ensuring good governance of IAHAIO. Board members should have an interest in human-animal interactions and a commitment to the work of IAHAIO. Potential Board members should have the drive and enthusiasm to take the charity forward.
The role of Board members is not remunerated. There are six board meetings per year plus various sub-committee meetings as needed, which usually take place online (skype or zoom). Board members are also expected to attend – in person – the Annual General Meeting, for which travel and accommodation expenses are reimbursed.
Although we are seeking a Board member with specific expertise in Fundraising on this occasion, please do get in touch if you feel you have other skills and experience you could offer to the IAHAIO Board, which may be considered at a future time.
