Apply for membership

We are delighted that your organisation is interested in joining IAHAIO and the global network of human-animal interaction organisations.

One of the main goals of IAHAIO is to gather together national associations and related organizations to advance the understanding and appreciation of the link between humans and animals. Another goal is to promote best practices in human-animal interactions, respecting and enhancing the health and well-being of both people and animals. If you think that your organization can benefit from membership of IAHAIO and can contribute to IAHAIO achieving its objectives, then we would be very pleased to receive your application and learn more about your work. 

We will consider the range of activities of your organization and examples of how you are working to the IAHAIO best practice recommendations ie our guidelines, declarations, position statements. If you are approved as a member, you will receive the IAHAIO Member logo and have access to a range of member benefits.

How to submit an application

You can apply for IAHAIO membership at any time.
To make an application, please complete the application form below. Applications must be submitted in English.

Process

Your application will be considered by the IAHAIO Board and you will be notified of the outcome within 4 weeks of your application. Please note that once you have submitted your application, you may be contacted by a member of the IAHAIO Board for further details, if required. New IAHAIO member organizations will have the opportunity to present their work at the IAHAIO AGM, but this is not compulsory.

Payment

Payment of membership fees will be required only your application has been approved. You will be sent an invoice by email for the appropriate fee according to your category of membership. Please note, if you join between March and December, this fee will be pro rata. You are requested to make payment within 4 weeks of receipt of the invoice.  Thereafter IAHAIO membership fees are due each year in January – an invoice will be sent to each member organisation.
Organisations should use the online payment method outlined in the email to which the invoice is attached. This is an efficient, cost-effective method and is preferable to checks. Any queries regarding payment should be sent to director@iahaio.org

Application form

To apply for membership, please tell us about your organisation by completing the application form. You may also include any additional relevant documentation to support your application, by including additional files with your application.

Please note that we will acknowledge receipt of your application. If you’ve not had an acknowledgement within one week of submitting, please email admin@iahaio.org.
