The Fondation Médéric Alzheimer has published a comprehensive practical guide on psychosocial interventions and dementia. (June 2021). It covers a range of different non-pharmacological interventions that can support people living with dementia, such as music therapy, reminiscence therapy and also animal-assisted interventions. IAHAIO, through the work of our President, Marie-Jose Enders-Slegers, has contributed to this guide, outlining the essential components of animal-assisted interventions and the physical, cognitive and psychological benefits such interventions can bring to people living with dementia.
