Greetings from the IAHAIO President

Welcome to the IAHAIO website. I am very happy to have the honour and privilege of being the President of IAHAIO.

IAHAIO is a global umbrella organization drawing together many associations and institutions doing innovative and exciting work in the human-animal interaction (HAI) field. We welcome those organizations that are working in research, in education, and in practice of human-animal interactions (HAI) to join our organization and benefit from our growing international network. Our mission is to provide international leadership in advancing and professionalizing the HAI field by stimulating, motivating and helping members from both research and practice, to work together and to share knowledge and (best) practices. We consider the care and wellbeing of both people and animals involved in HAI or AAI of great importance and welcome insights from those working in the field on how good standards of care can be achieved in different settings and contexts.

IAHAIO creates excellent networking opportunities through our international conferences, collaborative projects, and an interactive web-based discussion area. This is an exciting time in the development of HAI and AAI, and there is much to learn and accomplish. You are very welcome to join us and be part of this exciting, growing network of HAI organizations.
