Next free webinar 25 June: Animal-assisted services in a war environment

 In Uncategorized

Displaced persons, trauma, injuries and death are the realities of war. The basic needs of food, shelter and safety take precedence over all else. And yet, a yearning for warmth, routine and comfort are ever present as people cope with war. Helping professionals must aid in restoring a sense of normalcy. Meaningful contact with animals, especially dogs can be a significant support in that process. Facilitated by Dr. Alina Rusu , biologist & psychologist ,and Board Member of IAHAIO, we invite you to join Dr. Sandra Foltin, founder of the TTA-NRW Institute, specializing in teaching and certifying animal-human teams participating in animal-assisted services, and Dr. Anne Sophie Albertowski, a German physician with specialized training in animal-assisted therapy and co-founders of Docs & Dogs, an educational program designed to provide knowledge and training opportunities about animal-assisted services in areas affected by war and crisis. This intriguing hour and a half will address practical steps to prepare dogs and keep them well during, and following, their services in war.
