Next webinar 24 September: Human-animal interaction research: Perspectives from the field

 In Uncategorized

Are pets always beneficial for their owners? Do some populations benefit more from being with animals? What is the physiological impact of animal-assisted services on the animals involved?  The effect that interaction with animals has on both humans and animals requires ongoing study and scientists all over the world are exploring the relationship.

Join IAHAIO for a webinar that introduces the forthcoming IAHAIO minimum standards for research and invites an international panel of practice-based researchers to share their experiences and insights from the field of Human-Animal Interaction (HAI). Together we will talk about what it means to do research in HAI, and discuss the challenges one can encounter when doing research in this unique field.

We will explore how research and practice support each other, share exciting outcomes from recent studies and propose a practical list of do’s and don’ts around research in HAI.

Questions from attendees will be encouraged as we strengthen the connection between research and practice.

Chaired by IAHAIO Board member, Ruthana Slob, this webinar will feature guest presenters Dr. Rodriguez, Dr. Protopopova, Dr. Valiyamattam, Dr. Glenk and Dr. Reniers
